Aviation Department employees spread the holiday spirit by handing out 6,500 candy canes throughout the terminal on Thursday, December 20.
The Airport's Candy Canes for Customers is part of TLC from CLT, a customer appreciation initiative that began in June 2015 to thank passengers for choosing Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Travelers were greeted with warm smiles, a big CLT welcome and holiday peppermint sticks. Each Airport volunteer passed out 250 candy canes in recognition of CLT 250, a year-long celebration of Charlotte's 250th birthday. Even Canine Crew members Hossa, Parker and Simon joined in the fun, dressing in their finest holiday attire.
"Our staff looks forward to this event every year," said Lauri Golden, CLT's customer engagement manager. "We love meeting our passengers and showering them with southern hospitality. It's our small way of providing our customers TLC (tender loving care) during a very busy travel season."
