Wings For All

Charlotte Douglas International Airport in partnership with Delta Air Lines and The Arc annually hosts Wings for All, a nationwide program that provides people with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families with a “dress rehearsal” opportunity to experience and acclimate to airport stimuli.
During the Wings for All event, participants get to:
- Check-in to receive boarding passes
- Pass through the Transportation Security Administration checkpoint
- Wait in the boarding area
- Board an aircraft (that does not take off)
The program also gives Airport, airline, TSA professionals, and other personnel the opportunity to observe, interact, and deliver their services in a structured learning environment, improving their disability competency and processes for accommodating passengers who fly.
Participation is on first come, first served basis, and is limited to 50 individuals with a disability. Each participant may bring up to two adult family members/support staff to the event. However, only one family member will be allowed to board the plane with the participant.
