About Airport Community Partnerships

Airport Community Partnerships is comprised of companies that operate out of, are based in, or have business with Charlotte Douglas International Airport. The Airport and its business partners thrive on the west side of Charlotte, and want our neighbors to thrive, too. We believe we can make a difference in our community when we come together.

With just three tournaments under its belt, ACP has raised $250,000, which Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill Industries’ Construction Skills Center, and the Renaissance West Community Initiative are using to better the lives of Airport neighbors.

Freedom School Partners

Reading is at the heart of Freedom School, and it creates the foundation for everything they do. Academic strength is built on literacy, and its scholars gain the skills (and passion) to become lifelong readers and learners.

Freedom School Partners changes the future for under-resourced students by giving them three life-changing tools: literacy skills, character strengths, and a community that believes in them. More than 83% of children maintained or gained reading ability during Freedom School in 2022. And after attending Freedom School, 97% of parents reported an increase in their child’s confidence in their reading ability.

Scholars participate in cooperative learning, role-playing, group discussion and creative writing, while engaging in dedicated reading times and building personal libraries.

The site at Renaissance West STEAM Academy is Freedom School’s largest, serving students from across west Charlotte.
