Filming at the Airport

Individuals or companies wanting to produce films, take photographs, or record for commercial purposes at Charlotte Douglas International Airport must submit a FILM application at least four (4) weeks in advance of the preferred date to film, photograph or record.

As of March 20, 2026, a new application process and fee structure are in effect. All requests must be submitted through the official online application form HERE. Requests are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and submission of an application does not guarantee approval.

If requests are granted, it can take up to 10 business days for the required application to be approved. Production companies are required to provide proof of insurance with Charlotte Douglas International Airport listed as an additional insured.

Under no circumstances should anyone attempt to commercially film, take photos or record without the Airport's permission. The Airport's primary objective is the safety and security of passengers and to ensure the operations of tenants are not disrupted.
