How long have you worked at Charlotte Douglas International Airport? 30 years
What originally attracted you to working at CLT?
What originally attracted me to CLT was the fact that I have been around airplanes all of my life. My dad is retired Air Force. Because of this, I have always loved planes.
Describe your typical workday.
I arrive around 6 a.m. We start by making sure the fuel trucks are topped off. I also tow and park the aircraft, load client bags and dump the lavatories.
Do you have any fun memories or moments/stories from your time at CLT that you would like to share?
I met my wife, who was working as a flight attendant for the Charlotte Hornets at the time. I would come to work even when I was off just to work the flight and see her.
What keeps you at CLT?
Family and 30 years in the same job.
What makes the City of Charlotte a special place to live/work?
It’s always busy at the Airport. We have lots of events that bring people to CLT and Charlotte.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten from someone since starting work at CLT?
Best Advice: There are no stupid questions.
If you could hop on a plane and fly anywhere, where would you fly and why?
I would fly to Arizona to visit my family, on my way to New Zealand to visit the Shire (Lord of the Rings).
