Pick Up & Drop Off
Passengers may be picked up and dropped off curbside, however, vehicles cannot be left unattended. Unattended curbside vehicles may be towed; this includes all lanes on the upper level (Departures/Ticketing) and lower level (Arrivals/Baggage Claim). The curbside should only be used for immediate pick-ups and drop-offs.
To avoid roadway congestion, go against the grain by dropping off passengers on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim level or picking up passengers on the Departures/Ticketing level.
Picking Up
Visitors picking up passengers are encouraged to utilize the Hourly Deck. Hourly parking is free for the first 15 minutes and spaces are available on levels 4-7. The Hourly Deck is also the most convenient parking option if you prefer to meet your passenger in the terminal. Walkways from the Level 2 elevator lobbies provide access to and from the terminal. Use the real-time parking map to check availability in the Hourly Deck and other CLT parking facilities.
Another option is the free Cell Phone Lot. Simply wait in your vehicle and ask your passenger to call or text you when they claim their luggage, then drive to the terminal’s lower level (Arrivals/Baggage Claim) to pick up your passenger.
Avoid looping around the Airport roadway while waiting, and do not park or pull off to the side of roadways to wait for arriving passengers.
Dropping Off
Passengers may be dropped off curbside on the upper level (Departures/Ticketing). If you wish to leave your car unattended and walk into the terminal with the passenger, the most convenient parking option is the Hourly Deck. Hourly parking is free for the first 15 minutes and spaces are available on levels 4-7. Walkways from the Level 2 elevator lobbies provide access to and from the terminal.
